FAQs

IS IT SAFE?

At Hatchet Hangout, our axes are not sharp to the touch and safety is our primary concern. Our rules are in place to help facilitate a safe environment for all. Our coaches are trained to monitor axes being handled appropriately and thrown the right way at the right time.

With this in mind, you must wear closed toe shoes, and all throwers must be at least 8 years of age.

WHAT SHOULD WE BRING WITH US?

By all means, wear closed toe shoes. You will NOT be allowed to participate if you are wearing opened toe shoes.

Additionally, wear whatever clothing is comfortable. Just make sure you can throw an axe!

ARE SPECTATORS ALLOWED?

As long as we have space, non-paying spectators are allowed to watch. We have seating available at each range for people to relax and watch their friends or family throw.

If we are unusually busy, spectators may not have sufficient space to sit as we need to accommodate all of our players.

HOW LARGE MUST MY GROUP BE?

There is no minimum. Singles, couples or larger groups can participate. Our facility can accommodate up to 100 players(15 lanes/targets)

ARE TICKETS REFUNDABLE?

No. Please keep in mind that the game is a live event, so once the booking is confirmed, refunds or cancellations are not allowed. You may reschedule your game at any time prior to 7 days before your reservation. Games may not be rescheduled within one week of your reservation.

WHAT IF I DON’T KNOW HOT TO THROW?

Most people don't!

This is actually part of the fun...learning how to not only throw, but to hit a bullseye with an axe! Our skilled coaches will take you through a variety of exercises and mini-games to help you excel! 

WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE A LUMBERJACK BEARD?

Don't worry. It's very possible you'll have one by the time you leave.

HOW MUCH ARE THE SESSIONS AND WHEN DO I PAY?

FULLY COACHED EXPERIENCE
For groups of four people or more, the cost for The Hatchet Hangout Experience is $35 each plus tax and tip for groups of four or more.

SEMI COACHED LANE RENTAL
You also have the option to choose a semi-coached lane rental at $25 per person per hour. The Semi-Coached session is available for return customers that have taken our Hatchet Hangout Experience which includes axe throwing techniques, and a safety briefing with axe safety rules, lane rules and our house rules.

Reservations are required. You will pay at the time of booking your session.

CAN CHILDREN PLAY?

Children aged 8 and up can play as long as they have the strength and coordination to effectively throw a hatchet. All children must be under the direct supervision of an adult. Children under the age of 8 may not throw axes under any circumstances, but they are welcome to watch from behind the lane barrier.

Children between the ages of 8 and 17 must have a parent/guardian present.

If the kiddos are having a hard time sticking the axe, we have foam axes they can throw. Hitting the target scores points!

IS A RESERVATION NECESSARY?

So our staff can prepare for your arrival, reservations are required at least one hour in advance. While some venues offer simple lane rentals, The Hatchet Hangout Experience is a fully coached experience! To pull this off we encourage every group to book in advance. We'll see you soon!

HOW EARLY SHOULD I ARRIVE?

It's essential that you arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to the start of your session. Your briefing begins prior to your scheduled game, so don't be late!

WILL I BE THROWING WITH OTHERS?

Nope. The Hatchet Hangout Experience is private and you will have two lanes reserved specifically for your group.

DO COACHES ACCEPT TIPS?

While tipping is never required, our coaches will work very hard to make sure you have a phenomenal time. They would most certainly appreciate a tip at the end of your session. They can accept cash or we can receive your gratuity via credit card at the front desk.

20% is a typical amount to tip, though, of course, you should determine the amount based on the level of service you receive.

HOW LONG IS EACH SESSION?

Plan on spending approximately 90-120 minutes with us for the fully coached experience. The session itself lasts either sixty or ninety minutes depending on your choice, and the briefing, debriefing and pictures can take fifteen to thirty minutes.

Lane rentals can be booked in one hour increments.

Note, for groups of eight or more, we do strongly recommend the fully coached 90 minute experience, though it's not required.
